People and email

Donor and recurring donor

A donor is a person who has already donated to your organization. A recurring donor has a monthly donation.

Where you see it in Afrus: in Personas (People), Tipo filter (Activo or Recurrente), and in Data > Reporte general.

Hard bounce

What it is, in general: an email that couldn't be delivered because of a permanent problem, for example because the address doesn't exist.

What Afrus does: the person's profile shows "Tiene Hard Bounce" (Has hard bounce), and the Solo contactables filter leaves them out.

Where you see it in Afrus: Personas, email status.

Lead

A person who left their details, for example in a registration form. It's the first step before becoming a donor.

Where you see it in Afrus: Personas, Tipo filter (Lead).

Opt-in and opt-out

Opt-in is the permission a person gives you to contact them through a channel (email, WhatsApp, etc.). Opt-out is when they withdraw it.

Where you see it in Afrus: in the person's profile, Eventos (Events) tab: Estado opt-in / opt-out for each channel.

Persona (person)

Each contact in your database: someone who registered, donated or was created by hand by your team. Their profile stores their details, tags, permissions, donations and history.

Where you see it in Afrus: Personas.

Soft bounce

What it is, in general: an email that couldn't be delivered because of a temporary problem, for example a full mailbox.

What Afrus does: the person's profile shows "Tiene Soft Bounce" (Has soft bounce).

Where you see it in Afrus: Personas, email status.

Solo contactables (contactable only)

A filter that leaves out people with a hard bounce, people who unsubscribed and people whose email is disabled. Use it to see who you can write to.

Where you see it in Afrus: Personas, "Solo contactables" button.

Tag

A label you put on a person to group them with others, for example "VOLUNTARIO" or "EVENTO_2026".

Where you see it in Afrus: Data > Tags.

Segmento (segment)

A group of people who meet certain criteria (tags, campaigns, widgets, donor type…). You can save it with a name to use in your sends.

Where you see it in Afrus: Data > Segmentos > Básico and Data > Segmentos > Avanzado.

Communications

Autoresponder

An email Afrus sends automatically to a person when something happens: for example, when they register or when their donation is confirmed or fails.

Where you see it in Afrus: Interacciones > Autoresponders.

Blast

An email you send at once to a group of people, such as a newsletter or a call to donate.

Where you see it in Afrus: Interacciones > Blast.

Merge tag

A code in braces, such as {{first_name}}, that Afrus replaces with each person's data when sending the email. That way everyone gets a message with their own name.

Where you see it in Afrus: in the email editor, Mapa de mergetags (Merge tag map) button.
