Learn how to cancel a recurring donation from the subscription detail in AFRUS, and what happens next.

When a donor asks to stop donating, you can cancel their subscription from AFRUS. Cancellation is immediate. Labels are shown as they appear in the Spanish version of the console.

Before you start

Status: only Activa (Active) or Fallido (Failed) subscriptions can be cancelled (with some gateways, also Pendiente and Revisión pendiente). In other statuses the cancellation gives an error.
Permissions: you need permission to view and operate subscriptions.

Step by step

Open the subscription. In Suscripciones, click the row's ID.
Click "Cancelar Suscripción" (Cancel subscription). It is the red text in the detail.
Confirm. In the window "¿Estás seguro de que deseas cancelar tu suscripción?" (Are you sure you want to cancel your subscription?), click "Confirmar" (Confirm).

You will see "La suscripción se ha cancelado correctamente" (The subscription was cancelled successfully). The subscription changes to Cancelada (Cancelled) and the pending charges AFRUS had scheduled are deleted.

Frequently asked questions

Can it be undone?

No. There is no button to reactivate it. If the donor wants to come back, they need to create a new recurring donation.

Can I cancel at the end of the period?

No. Cancelling from AFRUS is always immediate.

What if I see an error or nothing happens?

If you see "Error al cancelar la suscripción" (Error cancelling the subscription), check the status: depending on how your organization is connected, some gateways don't allow cancelling from AFRUS. If no message appears after clicking "Confirmar", the subscription was not cancelled. In both cases, contact AFRUS support with the ID.
